Programme Manager


Reporting directly to the Head of Programmes within the Eakin R&D business, this is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established team and be strategically involved in key projects. Critical to the role is the delivery of two core programmes, to include multiple projects, delivering exciting new products, to enable business growth, whilst meeting customer expectations. The successful applicant will be required to plan and execute those programmes, with accountability for overall governance.



  • Work closely with the Head of Programmes to develop and execute the Programme Management strategy
  • Support the ongoing implementation of the New Product Development (NPI) process across the Eakin Healthcare group
  • Act as Programme Manager to several complex, multi-discipline product development projects and programmes, providing timely issue resolution, expert knowledge and key decisions at each stage of the project
  • Manage project teams across a range of departments and companies within the Eakin Healthcare Group
  • Manage adherence to project and programme budgets
  • Adopt a risk-based governance approach
  • Report and communicate project progress on a regular basis to key stakeholders
  • Generate monthly project reports, quantifying progress, performance, cost and associated internal risk relative to the achievement of project goals
  • Support the Head of Programmes with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of two new systems – a Document Management system and a Project Management system
  • Adhere to ISO 13485, FDA CFR 820 and associated design control requirements
  • Establish and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Influence key stakeholders in line with business and programme requirements
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation on projects by maintaining up to date knowledge of advances in project management techniques

  • Educated to degree level in a technical subject
  • Significant experience in programme management, gained within a similar development environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the product lifecycle from concept through to launch of finished product
  • Proven experience of managing multi-functional teams
  • Experience creating and managing project budgets
  • Commercial understanding
  • Process focused mindset
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Experience of managing development Programmes which support significant business objectives
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards in a similar industrial environment



  • Qualification in Project Management
  • Strong technical aptitude

  • Knowledge of medical device standards and regulations, such as ISO 13485



This role interacts across the Eakin Healthcare Group of companies and will have an influencing role with the following


  • Innovation, Development and Industrialisation teams
  • Commercial to include Product Insights
  • Clinical trials, Marketing and Sales forecasting
  • Operations to include Manufacturing and Procurement
  • Finance, in particular costing


Manage the outputs from

  • Key suppliers of equipment and components.
  • Contractors and specialists such as Design houses.



  • Able to travel frequently between our various locations and occasional international travel
