Marketing Manager


Reporting into, and working closely with, the Eakin Surgical SLT, the purpose of the role is to develop and execute global product and market strategy initiatives by capturing market insight and translating it into actionable programs which build awareness by developing and executing on marketing strategies to meet consumer need and maximise profits.

This includes working in a cross functional capacity to develop and successfully execute strategic and tactical marketing plans. The candidate will be a well organised self-starter who can translate current trends and opportunities in to target projects and products for the business, builds awareness by developing and executing on marketing strategies to meet consumer need — and maximize profits.

A multi market approach to different areas of the Surgical and Contract Development Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) business is required.

Product management – working with Operations and QARA, product management will be instigated by the Marketing Manager (including but not limited to - IFUs, packaging, artwork, internal processes & sales and marketing roll out 



Strategy and Tactics

  • Develop annual and longer-term integrated marketing strategy and plans in line with business objectives utilising both traditional and digital platforms
  • Bring new ideas and novel marketing plans to the SLT.
  • Take an active role in business development activity to support business objectives and sustainable profitability.
  • Working with Sales Director, Sales Manager, CDMO Head and team of Key Account Managers to develop optimum account profitability and retention programmes
  • Work alongside the Business Analyst and wider commercial team to establish pricing models for respective markets across the globe.
  • Utilise methods to set and evaluate success criteria for all marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with Innovation to devise strategic marketing plans for the surgical and contract manufacturing businesses

Operational marketing and communications

  • Develop and implement marketing programs from concept to completion, using metrics to drive success and continuous improvement for both product and services
  • Responsible for overseeing the production of marketing communications collateral & promotional aids ensuring consistency.
  • Support all national exhibition and internal events where necessary
  • Attend regular planning, internal and external meetings to represent the marketing team, delivering presentations when required.

People management

  • Manage and develop the Marketing Executive to maximise the marketing team’s contribution to achieving the business objectives, ability to build the team as the business grows

Product Management

  • Working closely with the SLT, innovation and development functions ensure consideration is given to product and service lifecycle management

New Product Introduction

  • Oversee all commercial and operational aspects of the launch of new products to agreed deadlines
  • Take an active role in the NPD process across the full product portfolio; this may include coordinating research, product management and insights programme for surgical aligned with project objectives
  • Project managing product launch timelines & foreseeing product availability

 Research, Planning and Analysis 

  • Compile ongoing competitor analysis and reporting, with reference to pricing, presentation, and promotion.
  • Evaluating marketing campaigns and ROI.

Key stakeholder engagement

  • Provide main contact point for relationships with respective trade associations and academic institutions aligned with business objectives
  • Establishing relationships with key opinion leaders in the medical arena

Brand Governance

  • Ensure the corporate identity is always maintained and used within guidelines
  • Ensure that all marketing communications, including on and offline, adhere to the data protection legislation.

Co-ordinate the following

  • The production of marketing materials by agencies and printers.
  • Support for the sales team with regular lead generating promotional activities and stock requirements.
  • Organisation of company participation in exhibitions.
  • The Company’s online presence via the website and social media.
  • The use market research / industry information to influence campaign development.

  • Substantial marketing experience
  • Portfolio of multi market successful marketing campaigns involving products and services
  • Previous people management experience
  • Product management knowledge
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to drive & market multiple product / Service channels


  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience of working with medical devices
  • Previous experience in a B2B marketing environment
  • CDMO or service industry marketing experience
