Operations Data Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting into the Head of Operations Systems, this role is a key function within the team to ensure we operate with good quality data that allows for sound and rational decision making to drive the operations teams toward business excellence.

You will control and analyse data across Operations within a manufacturing business, producing routine reports and dashboards with actionable insights to inform decision making and opportunities for improvement. You will ensure best practice across core Master Data requirements, flagging gaps and helping the operations teams to improve data capture and quality of data. You will own key datasets and collaborate with various operational functions across each of the therapeutic areas, Supply Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance to understand how improved data capture, insights and analysis can add value.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Oversee the setup of master data within Sage X3, new product creation, bill of materials
  • Own the operational data in their various sources and work with the Operations and Data and Process team to edge toward having as few points of truth as practicably possible
  • Provide analytical support to the monthly S&OP cycle to ensure data alignment across operational functions which allows timely effective decisions
  • Provide data and analytical support for all Operational processes to help the team better manage their process and resources in their pursuit of business excellence
  • Support delivery of data required to have SMART KPI’s and identify actionable insights
  • Own data associated with generation of operational reports
  • Create and maintain documentation relating to the process you build and own
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and escalate risks
  • Work with stakeholders to be part of the solution they need
  • Ad hoc data requests to support Strategic transformational projects

KEY SKILLS

Essential

  • You will have experience in a similar role
  • Be familiar with Master Data in a similar focused and improvement led business
  • You will have experience with one or more ERP systems (eg SAGE, Dynamics NAV, SAP, Oracle etc) and ideally understand MRP functionality within a manufacturing supply chain
  • Understand the reality of what data represents, and how the system must accurately reflect real life.
  • You will have formidable analytical skills, with high levels of attention to detail
  • Comfortable unifying data to provide actionable insights as to where improvements can be made, using various applications from Excel to Power BI
  • You will be comfortable interacting with various teams through the organisation
  • The role requires an individual with strong communication skills that can adapt their influencing style and presentation skills according to the forum and /or audience
  • Outstanding organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Self-managed individual who can act autonomously
  • Team player with collaborative style and strong listening and partnering skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to quickly changing priorities 

Desirable

  • Previous experience with Sage X3
  • An understanding of fundamental lean Six Sigma concepts and tools
