Assistant Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a confident and self-motivated individual who can demonstrate strong levels of performance in this Assistant Accountant role.  The role will report directly to the Finance Manager, based in Comber and will be involved in the preparation of accounts for Eakin Healthcare and Eakin R&D.

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Manage the AP/AR functions.
  • Accrual accounting and journal management.
  • Prepare VAT and Intrastat returns and submit on a timely basis.
  • Complete all statistical returns.
  • Prepare monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for the above-mentioned companies.
  • Prepare legal entity trial balances for the above companies.
  • Preparation of supporting schedules for Legal Entity financial statements​.
  • Preparation of audit files for the external auditors and liaising with the auditors for the annual audit.

Essential

  • Part Qualified accountant or QBE
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong IT and Excel skills are required
  • Diligent and able to work efficiently with attention to detail, within required timescales
  • Finance systems experience
