Market and Product Research Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be directly responsible for helping TG Eakin to continue to build a respected research-led voice within Ostomy and Wound drainage internationally.  You will be a senior member of a wider commercial team who are all joined by the common ambition to ensure having a stoma becomes ‘a small part of a bigger life’ for a growing number of people, across the world.

As someone who is analytical with strong commercial acumen and enjoys customer interaction, you will strengthen our ability to access existing and new markets most effectively with as many of our products through research, conducting evaluations in-market and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. 

Utilising an evidence-based approach, this role is pivotal in contributing to our product portfolio decisions, market segmentation activities and optimising the localised promotion of products. 

This role has direct line management responsibilities, with the Clinical Co-ordinator reporting into this post.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES  

Commercial Strategy Participation

As part of the Senior Commercial Leadership Team, contribute to developing our long-term growth plans and oversee relevant areas of execution, with and through the wider team.

Build market access

Develop and coordinate the market access strategies and relationships in order to promote successful uptake and wider access of Eakin products in our International markets, with focus on North America, Netherlands, France, Japan, Germany, Australia, Ireland

  • Build and utilise full knowledge of reimbursement in our international markets and payment pathways to help inform commercial decision making
  • Support the application of new reimbursement codes and categories in new markets
  • Support on submission of hospital contracts and tenders
  • Execution of health economic arguments/outcomes across target markets

Understand and influence product performance and acceptance

Build understanding of product acceptance and performance in specific markets by collecting data, generating analysis activities and disseminating results to a diverse audience. This is to satisfy both commercial ambitions and required compliance

  • Prioritise and co-ordinate what work/investigation is required to meet Strategic commercial objectives
  • Under guidance from the Head of Clinical & Regulatory Affairs, carry out and report on post-market surveillance activities
  • Support market and product segmentation decision making through specific research, analysis and communication of findings
  • Work closely with the product and insights team to translate and validate potential insights.
  • Regarding NPI, co-ordinate activities in markets to support Eakin R&D, distil results of user studies to marketing and wider commercial team, assist in bringing the results of user studies to life as part of product training
  • Liaise with markets to lead the building of local claims or carry out specific studies to prove a claim or position within chosen segment/s

Engage with external stakeholders as research voice behind products and market opportunities 

  • Elevate the voice of the customer (clinical or consumer) and Eakin through the identification of suitable research areas, carrying out or assisting research and then promoting through presentation at conferences, publications etc.
  • Help to lead nurse engagement programmes like PACE (usually in conjunction with clinical advisor and marketing colleagues)
  • Initial point of contact in market for product concerns from customers and internal stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate activities or comms from market and back out to market
  • Co-ordinate with Eakin R&D to distil results of user studies to marketing and wider commercial team, key part of product training

KEY SKILLS 

 

Essential

  • Educated to degree level
  • At least five years working in a commercial environment in a related role, with at least part of that time being with medical device products (class 1)
  • Fluent English speaker
  • A willingness to travel within the UK and internationally
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience of Microsoft Office with good Excel and PowerPoint
  • Full clean driving licence with access to own transport

Desirable

  • Ability to speak one or more foreign languages
  • Experience in ostomy or wound care market
